I’m so excited to work with you! My goal is to provide your family with a fun and fast photography experience with a cozy fall feel, capturing your family’s connection in this season of your life.

What does a family mini session look like?
Time of day
The time of your session is based solely on lighting. I love to shoot during the lovely glow of the morning and evening. The light is soft and warm, creating flattering skin tones and evens out deep shadows. There is no substitute for poor light, and nothing can beat great light!
My biggest bit of advice for a morning session is getting everything ready to go the night before. Your morning will go so much smoother! Lay out everyone's clothes, socks, and shoes, perhaps even lay out an easy ready-to-go breakfast. For an evening session, still getting everything ready the day before will help avoid scrambling day-of.
Regardless of your session time, facilitating a relaxed day will help with everyone’s energy levels. A nap can do wonders!
Length
15 minutes! Our session will go by quickly, so prepare for it to feel fun and fast! I do have back-to-back sessions so it's important that we work timely :)
Location
I photograph on-location with 100% natural light, no light stands for me! I’ll choose a gorgeous Ann Arbor location with easy parking lot access.
What should we wear or bring for family mini session photos?
Wardrobe
Coordinated your family’s clothes will go a long way to help the photos feel cohesive.
How do you want your photos to feel? A warm color palette (mustard, beige, creamy neutrals, brown, rust, burgundy, and taupe) will give a different vibe than a pastel palette (cream, white, beige, gray, muted pinks and purples, coral, rose, and light blues). You could also pick a couple bold pops of color and surround them with neutrals, or go more dark and moody with some lighter colors mixed in.
Always, it’s important you feel comfortable and confident in your outfit!

Props
I don’t use or bring any props to my sessions. I will bring a blanket for seated poses, feel free to bring one if you have a favorite! Snuggly blanket pics are always welcome in the fall.
How can I prepare my kids for a fall mini session?
Preparing Children
While this is a fast session, the goal is FUN! Frame the entire experience as a family outing, maybe with ice cream or hot chocolate after to keep the fun going!
My goal is to capture your family’s natural connection and your child’s personality. This should be a fun experience for them—they get to play with mom and dad at the park! Helping your kids know what to expect will help them feel more confident and excited for their pictures. Don’t worry about disciplining during the session, keep the smiles and laughs going by letting them be a little crazy. Nothing your child does will fluster or surprise me, I’ve seen it all!
A good nap before does wonders! And don’t forget, full tummies are happy tummies :)
Your life and family doesn’t need to look or feel picture perfect. It’s beautiful the way it is right now, so just be yourselves!
How do we get our photos after our mini session?
What can you expect after your session?
Within 2 weeks, you’ll be emailed a link to a beautiful, private online gallery space containing the high resolution digital files from your session, prepared in both color and black and white. Images are ready for viewing, purchasing, and printing directly from your gallery!
My mini sessions always include a $50 gallery credit or your choice of 5 digital downloads. You're free to use that credit however you like, on prints, digitals, a mix, or to upgrade to a larger digital package (a popular choice!) if you would love more than 5 photos. After our session, your credit will automatically be applied at checkout.
As you look through your gallery to select your photos, you’ll notice the images represent your unique connection and my artistic vision. I truly believe the photos from your session work together to tell stories about your family! It’s an honor to be part of capturing those stories for you.
